Life in the Boarding Section: A Journey of Discipline and Brotherhood

When people think of boarding school, they often focus only on the academics. But life in the boarding section at St. Lucia Hill School Namagoma is an experience that shapes your entire character.

Rising with the Sun

Our day begins early at 4:30 AM. For many, waking up at this time is a challenge, but here it is a routine that instills deep self-discipline. We quickly prepare ourselves and head to class for early morning preps, setting a focused and determined tone for the rest of the day.

The Heart of Our Community: The Dining Hall

After morning preps, we head to the dining hall for breakfast. Meal times are incredibly special because they are organized by classes. This structure does more than just keep things orderly—it creates a wonderful opportunity for us to socialize, share stories, and build lasting friendships with our classmates over a warm meal.

Rest and Fellowship

When the academic day concludes, we return to the dormitories at 9:30 PM. Before we sleep, we always gather for communal prayers. This moment of fellowship grounds us spiritually and helps us wind down after a long day of learning. By 10:00 PM, it is lights out, and the dormitories fall completely silent as everyone rests to prepare for the next day’s challenges.

Living in the boarding section has taught me the true meaning of independence, time management, and brotherhood. It is a community where we push each other to achieve our best.
